Movies I’ve seen recently #2
Apr 8th
Must-see-s:
Slumdog Millionare ( iMDB )
Genre: Crime | Drama | Romance

The premise revolves around the story of an indian boy from the slums of Mumbai, his brother and a girl called Latika all of which are orfened at a preteen age, relying soley on each other to survive the cruel reality of Mumbai. The story is great and shocking as reality usually is, the characters stink of reality and they’re far from black and white, with a great music score making this flick a well deserved overall winner of the 2008 Oscars.
Oldboy ( iMDB )
Genre: Mystery | Thriller | Drama

One of the best Korean films and they’ve produced basket full of great movies in the last two decades. It’s a great mystery mindfuck, with a fair serving of comedy, drama and suspense. The scenography and camera work are splendid and there’s no reason to skip this movie.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off ( iMDB )
Genre: Comedy

A relaxing comedy about 3 friends who’re taking it easy. Great movie.
Adams æbler ( iMDB )
Genre: Comedy | Drama

A self proclaimed evil nazi finds himself in a small dannish village in the care of the local pastor, who’s already taking care of an extreme pakistani with a personal jihad on the national gas company and an obese ex-tennis player.
All the characters are uniquely absurd and all too real at the same time.
Day of the Wacko ( iMDB )
Genre: Comedy | Drama

Day of the Wacko is a polish movie about a man, who hates his life and other people, including himself suffering from compulsive disorder, with great and funny insight about life.
Teeth ( iMDB )
Genre: Comedy | Horror

A new kind of b-horror, that’s really high quality prodution and content-wise with self-referenced humor and divided between the absurdity of the real and imaginary.
Maybe-s:
Valkyre: Not that bad of a historic movie, but don’t expect a Tom Cruise action flick.
Not-ies:
Role Models It’s just meh.
